The University of Brawijaya Hospital Management Master Program continues to improve the quality of students through a high quality competitive education process. This is an important process in improving the quality of education in Hospital Management Master Degree Program, Faculty Of Medicine University Of Brawijaya.

“Students are not only required to be able to study thoroughly, but more than that, students should also be able to apply the knowledge to the Hospital” said Dr. dr. Tita Hariyanti, M.Kes as chairman of the Hospital Management Master Degree Program.

The knowledge of hospital management, together with application of theory, would be essential for student to be able to develop Hospital Management Science

To improve the quality and competency of the student, on July 5 – 6, 2019, the Integrated Final Exam was held and was mandatory for All students who were in the second semester.

When assesing problems in each hospital, students were required to take various aspect into consideration, including hospital architecture, legal aspect, logistics, economic evaluation and clinical managements. These aspects were them being reviewed and presented in front of panelist practitioners & academician who are experth in their respective field.

This time, the students discussed a variety of topics, one of which was discussing the Strategies of Waiting Time in Emergency Installation and Implementation of Quality Management and Patient Safety in the ICU.

“In the hospital there are still many shortcomings in terms of staff qualifications and competeciens in the ICU, there is an increase in the average of same case readmissian to the ICU in 72 hours” said one student while addressing the topic of discussion at the Hospital .

Observations made by students will then be discussed by the panelists involved. The assessment is expected to provide positive learning experience not only for students, but also can provide feedback for improving the quality and service of each hospital.

“I am very grateful and welcoming fellow students to conduct observational studies in our Hospital Environment. The results of this presentation will be an input for the development of our hospital. “Said the panelis who happens to hold the director position in one of the private hospitals in Batu City.

Students not only assesing and observing the problems, but also able to provide alternative solutions for hospitals and brought positive impacts on the development of health sciences particulary in the field of Hospital Management.
