Sharing is caring. This saying seems appropriate to tell the reason why a seminar dissemination of outbound student programs needs to be held by inviting various circles, ranging from lecturers, alumni, students, and prospective students. Seminars that are part of student outbond program aims to share the knowledge obtained by students during the program. In the program, students gain knowledge from joint lectures that tell about the experience of hospitals in Singapore, the United States, and Indonesia. Students also received hospital management knowledge from hospitals in Thailand, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates. It is a pity if the knowledge obtained from various countries stops only until students who follow.
The seminar held on March 20, 2021 has a “Hospital Strategy to achieve sustainability: Looking Toward Saving Tomorrow Resources”. This sustainability issue is one of the important issues in hospital management. Hospitals need large resources to operate, but available resources are increasingly limited due to environmental damage, disasters, and various other kinds. Hospitals need to look for governance patterns that enable hospitals that produce quality services but have minimal environmental damage and minimal costs.
At this seminar, students presented 5 interesting topics about sustainability in English, namely, Healthcare Policies and Regulation: Its Role and Impact on Quality and Sustainability, “Designing the Hospital: Building to Sustain”, “Managing Clinical Governance: Balancing Sustainability and Clinical Governance”, “Caring & Sustaining: Understanding the Impact of Sustainability on Quality of Care”, and “Saving the Earth, Saving the Cost:: The Financial Impact of Hospital Sustainability” This seminar presents repairors who are hospital experts, including Dr. dr. Kohar Hari Santoso, Sp.An.KIC.KAP, Tito Haripradianto, S.T., M.T, Prof. Dr. dr. A. Rudijanto, Sp.PD-KEMD., FINASIM, Dr. dr. Viera Wardhani, M.Kes., FISQua, and Drs. Ali Djamhuri, Ak., M.Com., Ph.D. Various unique and interesting hospital experiences are presented by students, such as Theptarin Hospital with its lifestyle building, the use of unused plastic bottles to become wall materials in KPJ Penang, the use of virtual tours to help patients find the location of the intended hospital, as well as the use of solar panels at Al Sharq Hospital.
